Legal Matters

Legal Separation

There are occasions when the parties to a marriage agree that their relationship has irretrievably broken down. Still, neither party deem it appropriate to institute

Divorce Proceedings to terminate their marriage at that time. However, it may be that the parties nevertheless wish to determine the financial implications of the breakdown of their relationship and would like this to be recorded in a formal manner.

In such circumstances, it is possible for a legally binding Separation Agreement to be prepared that records the financial terms of the agreement, notwithstanding that no divorce proceedings have at that time been instituted.
